Which version for a linux newbie?

I have Yellow Dog Linux Version 6.2 right now so I would say version 5.0.1 is for newbies.

YDL 5.0.1 is for "oldies" not newbies. Stick with the current version 6.2 or if you need bluetooth for sixaxis emulated games, you should stick with 6.1.

Yeah, that bluetooth part annoys me, so I will "degrade" to 6.1 today..

i would reccomend Ubuntu since is more known, btw you should try with it in your pc just to get an idea of how it would be. it wont be as fast as your pc but its a ncie start if you dont want a lot of programs, the best part of linux is ythat you can tweak everything in the os and if you dont know how to just google it just my 2 cents.
