Snes9x on yellowdog 6.1 HELP!

I'm trying to install snes9x on my ps3, I have the source code on my yellowdog desktop, I open terminal and type 'yum install snesx9express' it starts to install but then I get an http error and it doesnt finish. Do I need to be online when I run the install? If I do, is there anyway of installing it without being online? Thanks in advance!

I assume you are referring to THIS SNES9x v1.43 SRC for PS3... but a quick search also brings up a 1.43 Linux x86 binary and 1.51 SRC HERE with a 1.51 binary. Some details on setting it up are at:

Edit: tried all that you mentioned but still no joy! I keep getting a http error, do i have to be connected to the net?

sorry, but if you dont have the exact error we will not be able to help you since we dont "understand" the problem. maybe some copy and paste will help

when you do yum install snex... it is actually looking at the repo's online and trying to download it from there.

Download the binaries above and put them in your ps3 as explained in the linked thread to get it to work without being online. only other option for you is to be online and do a yum install.

i installed snes last night, i used the following command:

yum install snes9x-rtk
