Sixaxis Now Usable Under Windows & Linux

Saw this tidbit while surfing the net.
Quote:
The SIXAXIS controller can be used on Windows PC. As is the case with it under Linux, it works as USB HID device that needs special initialization under Windows.

The instruction to make it work properly is as follows:

1. Download and install the filter driver (libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.10.1.exe).
2. Unpack ps3sixaxis_en.exe
3. Plug the SIXAXIS into your PC.
4. Run ps3sixaxis_en.exe once.
5. Push the PS button on the SIXAXIS once if it seems to be sleeping.

It's a no go for me. I specifically followed all directions here. Controller doesn't want to wake when pressing the PS button.

You may have to go to run/command under the start menu, navigate to the folder in which the program is in under that and open it.

It worked for me - also be warned that the four top lights blink constantly even when it is working on your system. It doesn't recognize it as any certain port or anything.

I sure hope that someone will port the libusb-win32 to work on xp64. This is an open source driver, so Im sure someone will eventually do it.

I uninstalled the extra drivers. Way too much trouble than what it's worth since I already own a controller for my PC.

I'll just wait up a bit until they perfect it and hopefully eventually they won't require you to install an extra program that's always running to use it.

All of my buttons worked when I was using it, but they were freaking out. I was trying to configure it with my emulator and the buttons kept on switching jobs. It was weird.
