Lightbulb PS3 linux newb needs some anwswers

ok hi all i got my ps3 finally and installed yellow dog. i didnt notice that the version i installed was 1127. so anyways i downloades this file CELL-Linux-CL_20061208-ADDON.iso . is this the correct one? i cannot get it to install cuz i dont know how or if its the wrong file is there a new one? i have since downloaded 1208 ydl so this is a option too i guess to reinstall it all. if so how whould i do that? maybe follow original installation instructions?

second question

i also downloaded fedora 6 and was wondering can i install both yellow dog and fedora? if so how if not how would i get fedora to replace ydl so i can see what its like. or can i duel boot them on the PS3?

third question

i had download some programs and tryed to install them in ydl and i could not figure it out. is there a executable file to load or does it all have to be done manually? how is this done?

4th question

will fedora work on my laptop? if so how is it installed it runs xp pro now and has a second partition already i could duel boot my laptop yes? does it boot from the bios like windows?

please if anyone has the time to answer a few of these questions please help.

thanks
robert

First Question: The ADDON cd is just that, an ADDON to Other OS's (not Yellow Dog, more fedora etc)

Second Question: You probably could, but it would be such a hassle, would really not be worth it. Considering that YDL is based of Fedora Core, not much of a difference.

Third Question: The programs need to be specifically compiled for the PS3 (most of the time).

Fourth Question: Yes it should, just grab a version of Fedora Core (x86 or x86_64), format and install, your set! You can dual boot, its a bit more tricky, and yes, it boots just like windows does (from the bios etc)

Check the links here, but that is quite old so you may have to check for newer versions instead.
