mount a external usb cd/dvd burner?

hi all,

still a newb at linux and ps3. anyways i bought a usb hdd and dvd burner. was able to mount hdd and rip games to it thats good.

however the dvd burner when i plug it in it takes the spot of the ps3 blu ray drive sda0 i think. so then when i use the command dd if=/dev/cdrom to copy a game this causes linux to look at my usb dvd insted of the blu ray drive?

how do i stop this from happening and make the usb dvd drive use its own spot insted of taking the blurays spot? or any idea of what spot the blu ray would have moved to? sd? or how can i find out where the drives are positioned now?

one more question. if i boot useing the enlightment shell i cannot figure out how to swith terminal too root user? in kds there is a tab for this but in enlightment no.can someone tell me how to switch to root user in terminal?

dunno what happened but i left the drive connected and turned on and rebooted and it mounted itself good this time. burned my first dvd useing ps3 and usb dvd burner.

now have a problem im using keb to burn dvd and it wont let me burn a file bigger than 4gb even though blank disk space shows up as 4.4gb on the blank dvd? any ideas?

have tryed xcdroast but my screen wont go higher than 1124x644 and cd roast says 1024x728 is the res it wants. and to see man-page to override that requirement i dunno what man page is?
