Does linux allow ntsc ps3's to play pal dvds?

Does linux allow ntsc ps3's to play pal dvds? Has anyone tried... i cant find any info on it.

Yeah it has been hard to follow that particular topic. Yes, but you have to install something thing like the VLC media player (or just that) That's what I heard at least.

Does linux play mkv files i have vlc and mplayer install but i can play it this file?

yeah VLC plays .mkv files so your good to go. Also, VLC is just a great app. to have on your computer it works with almost ALL video formats if not all of them but does have a bit of trouble with certain .wmv files
