blu-ray iso use?

after searching this forum, i've seen a lot of posts with regards to the dumping of bluray ps3 discs. it looks like they are all dumped to an .iso file, which from what i'm familiar with is used to burn to discs. blu ray discs are about 20 bucks or so a pop, so is there a way to make a backup of a game, store it to an external hard drive, and play it via usb in the way that if you download a demo or game from the ps3 store it works that way?

Do you have a bluray burner? NO, so you cant burn one then. The why people are planning to play bluray backups is by loading them from a hd.
