It was possible with older firmware. I think pre 1.5. New firmware will just throw the blu-ray disc out.

I think the command was:
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/imagename.img

To dump/copy/back-up games and Blurays is the installation of the VLC, MPlayer, & SNES9x all required to make a successful copy to the hdd?

im just wondering:

cant you play a blueray with mplayer and just dump it to a file while watching?
or does this mean you can't even watch a blue ray in linux?

Vlc with no gui

Hi all.

It's my first time and this forum is great. Even though I'm a total linux noob I've managed to install YDL 6.0 on my 60 gb Ps3 and configure VLC to access my network and stream files stored in my pc.

The only problem I have is that when I start VLC nothing happens... (gui doesn't show up). If I try to play directly from the file it will run ut also only a window will show and no commands are available...

I have searched and it seems that I should add a package for the gui. Could anyone show me how...?

thanks a lot for all the help

Question

When you download the Snes9x onto the PS3 where do you put the extracted files? and in What user? Root or "other". and what is an "executable"? because whatever it is, i cant find it once ive followed the instuctions.
