Delete ps3 linux partition

Hi there,

I just want to know if someone can help me. I try to install linux on my ps3 and I just want to to delete my linux partition because I change my mind and I want to keep my free space disk for my ps3 games, demo etc. I try to do the full format but my other os still there and its what I want to remove from my ps3 and keep all my free space.

i had the same problem but luckily my ps3 died on me so the replacement had no linux but http://www.avforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-614241.html seems to have the answer remeber to back it up.

atlask has a little shameless behaviour in the past
just use a live cd or dvd on pc with ur pc and format it

u wont beable to completely remove the 10 gb partion unless you set the settings when you format "allow all for ps3" id u want to erase an old version of linux for installation of a new one most install disks come with that option, well at least ydl 6.0 does.

So you're pretty much saying that once linux is installed on the PS3, it can not be removed?

I'm trying to install it to try it out, but i don't want to screw anything up.

well if you run on YDL and if you put Ubuntu DVD in, that should give you some formating options before install right?

so I think we could format it that way too ...

I think the best way is to put the hd into a pc and format with some software, maybe: PartitionMagic

Why go to all the trouble of taking it out when you can do it directly via the PS3 as stated in previous replies?
