No, absolutely not. The PS3 will never be capable of playing modern PC games because the cell is not an x86-compatible processor.

Edit: Although you may be able to play a few games under Linux, but that's about it. DOSBox will allow you to play older PC games if that is what you had in mind.

I thought this was possible, not directly but using ur ps3 as a client to your PC to stream the games to the console. I dont remember the article, but do some googling on the subject.

I would hazard a guess that the PS3 just wasn't powerful enough to.

Hi , theoretically its possible through cpu virtualization/emulation , anyway can't expect same speed or same graphics quality of native x86 platform , actually so far there's no emulators for ps3.

It is if you have a PS3 with (4) USB ports on the front, if yours only has (2) then unfortunately not yet.
