I heard that smoke can have a bad effect (also dust) are you a heavy smoker in a small room?

If it works there but not at home I would check what is different between the 2 places, mainly the enviroment. If still not that could the trip from the retailer to your house maybe damaged the machine?

Or the online connection at your house could be causing conflict.

best solution is call sony playstion and they will help. i did and they replaced my console, hope this helps.

try doing the fans test to blow out any dust.
