Update from 3.40 to 3.41 avoiding 3.50?

hey all...

I bought a ps3 slim last night, the firmware version installed on it is 3.40, now I want to jailbreak it, but for jailbreaking it, i will need to update it to 3.41, but as the latest version is 3.50, how can i update it to 3.41 while avoiding the latest update??
any tutorials or guide plz...

You will have to find the links here on this board, for 3.41. Make sure the md5 number is correct before installing from usb drive.

yeah i think i have found the update files, but i am not sure what you mean by "md5 number", btw, my ps3 is the euro version.
it would be better if you could point me towards some guide or tutorial

Grab the euro version from here http://www.ps3news.com/playstation-3...ils-available/

you'll get s PS3UPDATE.PUP file. Copy this file to a usb memory stick into the following folder location (create the folders if u need to in upper case)

/PS3/UPDATE

Power on your ps3 insert the memory stick and go into system settings to update the firmware. Ensure you select to upgrade from USB storage and not network update, otherwise u'll get the latest firmware and not 3.41!
