RED Screen and error message

My grandsons turned on the PS3 and it was a red screen with messages of some type error and it was in multiple languages. Any ideas or fixes? It worked fine a couple of days before.

Mine did that about a month ago. It was Hard Drive related for me but no matter what I tried with reformatting, new HDD, or default settings would work. I was still barely in my one year warranty so Sony replaced it, no charge.

Thanks for the answer, it is what I was afraid of. Mine is out of warranty. So I guess it is trash.

Sony will fix it for around $160 USD, if you want to go that route.
