PS3 Upgrade or downgrade first help?

I want to downgrade my PS3's firmware to 3.55. So I want to know what I should do first, should I have the firmware downgraded before I send it out to be upgraded? Or should I have the components upgraded first before I downgrade to 3.55? Thanks.

Doesn't really matter, as long as they don't upgrade you to the latest OFW if you downgrade first. So maybe you should upgrade the components and then downgrade your FW to be on the safe side. What FW are you on now?

Yeah thats right, upgrade your parts then downgrade, as long as you trust them.

Oh, sorry. It's a fat CECHA01 model with the official 4.31 firmware. The console hasn't been modified in any way yet.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure which one I should do first or if the order mattered at all.
