    RSOD are more commonly software issue. RSOD will start to appear if one of part of the Operating System files are corrupted or cannot be read.

    Mostly, if it is hardware, as HeyManHRU said, its more like on a badblocks in flash chip. This can be fixed if you were in 3.55 or lower Firmwares with the RSOD fix tools available right now.

    Please give more information about your problem, when/how did it happen? There are a couple of causes for the RSOD.

    Did you overheat your system? What were you doing at the time the RSOD appeared? Can you discribe us what PS3 you have? (eg. phat, slim)

    try swap the hard drive and reinstall 3.74 firmware or higher

    That's a big random guess you have there Technodon. If he fried his CPU or GPU he first needs to open up his console and fix that issue !

    Exactly, the problem could also be because of a bad memory flash.
