[Answered] PS3 Network blocked by school!

    Wassup!!!

Ok so I just moved into my apartment in a dormitory where I will be working. However, the school has content filters on many sites, including gaming sites. Naturally speaking, I am unable to connect to the internet or PSN with my PS3 when I plug it in!!!!! THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!

Does anyone know a way around these filters so that I will be able to access the network and resume my online gaming??!!!!
What is the deal with the proxy servers and how they work??

    Thanks!!!

I had a similar problem with my ps3 when i moved into a student dorm.

I put a router between my pc and internet, had a ps3 wireless dongle in my pc and connected it to my ps3, and port forwarded the psn ports on my router.

Use [Register or Login to view links] if you don't know how to forward ports on your router.

    The PSN ports are:
    TCP: 80, 443, 5223
    UDP: 3478-3479, 3658
