    [Answered] PS3 HDD Question help?

Isnt it possible to format an external hdd to the format that the internal hdd of the ps3 has, can't remember wich format it is again, but read it somewhere. Wasn't it a format that linux could read?

Would solve some problems that we have with fat32. Or isn't this possible , didn't see a topic on this , sorry if this is old stuff.

Unfortunately we are stuck with FAT32 for right now, but you can use disk management programs like SwissKnife to create large FAT32 partitions on an external drive.

I think that it may be possible to format the external in the ps3 internal format, but it is absolutely impossible for the ps3 to read it as an external hdd if inserted into a usb port.

no it is not possible, as the PS3 will not recognize that format through the USB ports, as I have tried my old PS3 HDD in a USB enclosure
