PS3 GameUpdate = FWUpdate?

Hi! I've just got my ps3 (euro) and i've got it to bypass the fwcheck.
*AWESOME*
But ween I would like play online it says:
"An update for R:FoM is needed to be installed to be able to play online".

I'm wondering, if i do this will it result that i'm getting fw 1.6?


I'm pretty satisfied with 1.5

To date, no game updates have modified the FW. Mostly add-ons and bug fixes that are downloaded to the HDD. If $ony starts sneaking FW updates in to game content downloads, I'm sure you will find that info in our front page news posts.

I could be wrong but I don't think Sony are legally allowed to update your FW with clearly telling you that you are about to do so.

Probably. But it would be eaiser using the FW check bypass decribed in another thread on this forum to just download directly from PS store onto your PS3. I can confirm it works fine bypassing the 1.6 check with 1.54 installed on the console.
