    [Answered] PS3 Fan Test mode?

    Hello to All ! I have searching a lot on the net about the ps3 fan test and i'm really confused about it some people it doesn't damages ps3 it clean the dust out of it by running fan at higher speed and some says it causes overheat to cpu & gpu so the ps3 fan runs at higher speed which shorten ps3 life span. So does this fan test mode damages your ps3? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I'd say as with most things in life, if it is done in moderation it shouldn't be a concern on shortening the PS3's life significantly... others?

    Thanks for the clarification BOSS, BTW i have tried it on my new 80gb for about 10sec the fan was going wild but the air was cool so i turn it off immediately.

    if the ps3 had been turned off for a little bit before you turned it on to do the fan test.. its should be cool.. stuff takes a few minutes to really heat up..
