PS3 Dongle Help?

Hello gentle civilians of the underworld.

I'm writing in a state of fury, as my 3 dongle has stopped connecting with the PS3.

I have just done a system restore on my laptop as it was crapshacked with viruses that made there in through a noob's folly.

Ever since I have been unable to re-connect via the dongle, I've done the sharing settings, numerous DNS checks and IPs and nothing is working, It continually comes up with DNS error when the DNS is 100% right

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What dongle? A jailbreak dongle? Don't seem like it being a dongle doesn't use dns settings. can you clarify a bit and i'm sure you can get the answers you need.
