Problem running emulators thru XMB via Swap Magic 3.6

First of all I have a NTSC 80GB PS3 - FW2.42.

My problem occurs when I get to Step 3. I press R1+ up, but nothing happens. No menu appears and swap magic freezes. I've tried using 2 different memory sticks... currently using a 8gb kingston. Any help???

Well I answered my own question... it was a compatibility issue. I tried two usb flash drives that didn't work. Finally I bought a SanDisk... works great!
