yea, but we have no idea when that will happen thoughSponsored Links
when i unstood you, you mean you can play ps2 games (or copies of them) on your PS3 without any modifications?
Which firmware do you have?
greetings from austria
lol not copies. but i can play original ps2 games. i have the early version 80 gig PS3 which includes the ps2 emulation software.Sponsored Links
in my honest opinion, the 60 gb was the best ps3 made.
only the first model of the 80 gb played ps2 games, the 20 gb was a waste of money, & sony is pimping us with these new 80 & 160 gb models.
I own 3 60gb & a test, so believe me when I say "it true, oh its damn true"
What would happen if you put an HDD from a PS3 80Gig model with PS2 emulation into a PS3 without PS2 emulation? Will it support PS2 emulation?
No, it won't. The required hardware (on the motherboard, not the hard drive itself) for PS2 emulation would still be missing.
and again ... still waiting for $ony .... that they include the emulation in one of the next FW .... damn!
this is a great example of how emoticons can really enhance a story
I too would like to have ps2 compatability on my 80gb ps3
I really hope Sony rolls out with the PS2 emulator update soon so that we can all enjoy are ps2 games. Plus it would probably sell more consoles due to people still loving their old Playstation 2.
What was the real reason Sony removed PS2 backwards capability on the new PS3 models? I think it was cause it cost more, but i forgot really.
