Nyko Frontman Guitar not working help?

I got this guitar super cheap and now I see why... IT WONT WORK! I've read some problems with a firmware update 2 years ago?? It seems to sync first controller fine with the "dongle" whether wireless or not but it wont even interact with the PSN home screen. Specific problems I have are when I turn on rockband 2 its as if someones holding down the start button and the screen goes completely crazy!

Rock band 3 doesn't seem to work at all. I was wondering if anyone is able to use this guitar or any real suggestions would be appreciated thank you.

yes you are right about the fact that sony disabled use of third party controllers in a recent firmware update.. my guess is that if your guitar controller is not faulty then that's why it won't work.
