Yes the Japanese PS3 1.5 firmware update has gone live. Some changes are more PS1/PS2 game support, Korean language keyboard input, and the ability for Japanese to connect their Edy card readers to the PS3 and buy things off PSN through this method (do a Google search for Edy if you want to find out more, however it's useless outside of Japan).
I'd imagine besides those things Sony has probably implemented there usual hush hush security updates trying to render such things as our hopefully soon to be released ISO loader, etc useless...so no need to update at this time.
I didn't see any news on this yet, so hope this is ok being posted here.
Yup, I dont know about USA but there IS an update today on the Japanese Version. Small updates on the Network Settings and they added Edy (Japanese prepaid system) as a payment method. And some other updates. Nothing really important
does anyone remember how long it took for them to start creating homebrew stuff for the psp after it launched? because i wanna update the ps3 firmware, but than i'll miss out on all the cool homebrew applications!
