[Answered] Internal vs External PS3 HDD?

    Hey guys,

What is the point of using a internal drive rather than a external usb one? Aren't external drive's cheaper and easier to use?

It's WAY faster to rip games to the internal drive (minutes instead of hours), and as currently PS3 only supports FAT32 for external drives, there is a filesize limit of 4GB in place, meaning that some games simply can't be copied to an external drive.

Internal drive can handle files which are bigger than 4 GB á file.

Yes, untill they update backup Manager so it supports the NTFS filesystem it's alot better. Internal harddrive will always be faster sience externals are USB 2.0 (480Mbps.)
