[Answered] internal hd swap into another ps3?

    Sponsored Links
    Hi,

Can I swap my internal hard drive into another ps3 without reformatting it?

    Cheers

Nope - NOT possible at all independent of model / type of PS3. Hard drive's content is encrypted to the particular PS3 and can not be used in any other PS3.

Is it between two fats or two slims or between a fat and a slim? If its between a Fat and a Slim then its not possible as they have different formats and won't boot at all.

Might also have to be the same firmware on each as part is stored/loaded from the hard drive.

But don't quote me on that! Only my theory.
