how to update ps3key with .hex file?

i have found out that i have one of many ps3 keys that can't be updated and wanna try a .hex file. could someone tell me how to do this please and what files i need?

why cant it be updated? on the website there is how to i think, but if you flash .hex you won't be able to go back to "original"

i am not bothered about going back to their official firmware, i just wanna be able to update it all the time.

dunno really what prog you need but i guess some flip or whatever manager
