How to play burned PS2 games on PS3? i have a ps3 60 gig yes the backward cap.

now i saw that i was possible to back up or to just play my ps2 copy games in the ps3 is this true ? I've got the ps2 of my sons hacked mod and have been playing all my back up ok and make-in the things so now i'm trying to play it on the ps3 help and thank you.
