how to fix black screen for some games?

are there any methods for fixing games that give you a black screen? I backed-up my copy of "sonic's ultimate genisis collection", but i get a black screen when i try to launch..

I had the same problem with Bad Co. version 1 not 2. I had to set up PS3 to 720P. Some games do not support 1080P.
