Hey all quick question, how do I go about compiling the source code of Virtual Boy Advanced (PS3 port) into a .pkg file so I can have it on my PS3? Oh and by the way I know nothing about Linux.

Well , usually you run up Linux , open command line and navigate to the source folder . Then its just a "make" command to compile , that it to keep it short. For everything else have a look at the hacks subforum and search a bit in the Ubuntu Thread on the first page. Evilsperm made a nice Ubuntu for all of us so get it.
