As I said 'thien' your PS3 won't play PS2 backups by itself. You need Swap Magic Retail or dongle to play PS2 backups.

So changing your region isn't going to help that.

did you try the copied game... It does not work as NTSC is NTSC whether Japan, Mexico or USA/Canada.

I know for PS2 games they all work the same.

What method are you using on your B/C PS3?

Ps2 backups runs only with a dongle, is it not?

NO, on a B/C PS3 he can use Swap Magic and or OPL v.09

    thanks. I'm reading now.

But seem in PS3 you need to have an original SwapMagic 3.6+ or 3.8 (at the moment there aren't any other option). I don't have original SwapMagic 3.6+ or 3.8 (copied of SwapMagic 3.6+ or 3.8 work or not)

It's been years since I've messed with this myself, but from what I recall you are correct and an original Swap Magic disc is needed since it contains the pressed (not burned) boot sectors that will allow it to launch on an unmodified PS3 console.
