How to access files on DVD from PS3 Internet Browser?

I have been trying to view some files (TXT, HTML, JPG, etc) stored in a DVD from the internal PS3 Internet Browser, but I don't know how to enter the proper URL. Is there any information about this or is it still unknown?

I know I can access them if I set up an HTTP server in my PC or if I install TVersity, but what I want is to access the files on a DVD or in an external drive (Memory Stick, HDD, etc).

I assume you mean on the actual PS3 DVD drive etc? I'm not sure it can be done. I have tried streaming media in the web browser from my TVersity URL but the browser seems to incompatible (no plugins to run Divx etc)

i have heard a rumor that with fw2.4 that there will be some sort of enhancements made for the divx codec.

And i wonder how can I place a link to avi-file to play it through PS3 browser? What content PS3 browser can play?
