PS3 hard drive swap 3.55 kmeaw to same help?

needing advice on swappin hard drives on my 2 ps3s there both running 3.55 cfw i tried just manually removing them and putting them in but they want formatted are they a way i can bypass this? by maybe ftping a certain sys file? in order to make the machine think its the same one?

i've tried the system update method but it wont work it just keeps asking to be formated grr

each ps3 has a unique per console encrypted key, but a ps3 hard-drive could be decrypted using linux tools if i remember correctly?
