Help Please with PS3 Video

I have read every thread I can find on converting videos to put on the PS3, and I am still having trouble.

I am using FFMPEGX for Mac OSX, and converting to MP4. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I tried to convert to MPG 1 as well, with no luck. I cant figure out how to consistently get videos from .avi, or an incompatible MP4 codec, to play on the PS3. Any help please?

I'm 99.9% the way I convert the video from blu-ray will work 100% of the time for any video.

Does PS3 Video 9 work on MAC OSX?

That program works wonders with .avi's or most any other types of files.
