    [Answered] Help For PIC18F4550?

    Hi, i have a PIC18F4550 and i don't know what hex file should i use can anyone help me? i don't want hermes v2.

    You can use any pic hex.They work for all models.You only have to look for the bootloader, led and mhz frequence to match with your chip.

    So the hex for 2550 can be used on a 2450,4450,4550 and all the same models from this series.The only differend is they use more/less storage, ram and cpu speed.

    The important things with the PIC boards is to get one with the correct LED location compiled. You can change the clock speed and enable or disable MCLR yourself with PICFLASH. So if your board is 20Mhz Crystal, Bootloader, MCLR with the LED on RC0 you need to find one that fits as many of those criteria as possible. I had similar problems but I just needed one with Bootloader and LED on RC0 and then used PICFLASH to change it to have MCLR enabled and 20Mhz clock speed.
