hdd swap working firmwares?

So what you're telling me is that with firmware 2.35 or greater I cannot upgrade my HDD? I thought that was something you could do no matter what, am I just not understanding the question?

Someone in IRC said its not possible to use the Swap method on 2.17 and up (2.17 to 2.20 debug I guess?) any truth to that?

Also, is it possible to use the downgrade feature on the debug firmware to actually downgrade?
