Okay i'm at firmware 3.01 and seeing that quit a bit bit of progress is going on linux to run i think i'll update to 3.41 for the brew, but... i need to know if i update do i regain the 10gb i lost to use linux and does it delete any of my movies, music, trophies, saves, ect.

I'm sure a quick search would have led you to it, but here it is: http://www.ps3news.com/playstation-3...s3-hdd-issues/

Remember you have to update via USB Stick or the like so you don't accidentally update to 3.42 which doesn't support brew, you need to be sure when you make this choice, as there is a chance, (However not likely) that you will never be able to use otherOS again.

And to my knowledge you don't lose anything other than otherOS.
