[Answered] Is FTP the only way to send files from PC to the ps3?

For example, if you have game files on your pc, would the only way to send them to the ps3 be that ftp app?

Yes - you can copy them to external USB hard drive (FAT32 formated) and even run them directly from there (unless the game contains files larger than 4 GB) or copy the games afterwards to internal PS3's hard drive usin Open Manager. To copy accross games with files over 4 Gb you'd need first split them using one of the currently two available splitter tools - OpenSplit v1.0 or the Comgenie Awesome Filesplitter
