FoxFi app on Phone not working for PS3 help?

I'm on t-mobile's unlimited data plan and downloaded the tethering app, foxfi. however in order to use the hotspot i have to use the proxy given to me by the app to hide my hotspot usage from t-mobile. this works fine for ipads and other phones but when i try to connect to it from my ps3 it reads the IP address but fails to connect to the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Proxy server address : 192.168.43.1
Port: 8000

oh and i've already tried rebooting the phone and the ps3, resetting the wifi name and using airplane mode to reset data activity.

Did you try to give your PS3 a IP manually and configure Gateway and DNS may be port manual too ?
