Formatting PS3 HDD on 4.30 help?

Hi, i am using 4.30 cfw on my ps3 and format my hard drive.

If i format it, will the cfw be gone?

No it will still be 4.30 CFW

You may or may not need to have the 4.30 CFW ready on a USB to install again. Depends upon the model of PS3.
