    [Answered] Format External HDD?

Hi everybody, I'm thinking about it, is there way to format an external HDD that can be read by the PS3 ?

So when can put some file bigger than 4gb on this because with my little 40gb it become hard to manage all the game

    thx :-)

Currently - no other format than FAT32 is supported so if your game have a file(s) larger than 4 GB you're out of luck.

There are talks (but nothing confirmed) about future Backup Managers supporting some other file systems alowing that but as it's quite complex issue I'd not rely on this apearing any time soon (if ever). IMO - it might be easier to get PS3 connected to some kind "network drive" - be it NAS, shared folder (via SAMBA) or even iSCSI. Only time will tell.
