    Lightbulb [Answered] Fake PS store?

Not sure if this will work, but couldn't people essentially just create a website similar to the ps store and we could download the packages onto our ps3 from there?

The simple answer is no - most of the communication that goes on is done via the HTTPS protocol, which is encrypted.

As for the certificates, they are stored on the PS3, so the PS3 can match against the one sent from the Sony servers, if they do not match, it fails.

Is the PS3 browser based upon a browser that is used in Linux/Windows, that has known "patches" in them, be interesting to see if we could cause something ot happen via the internet, and use the InGame XMB as a way of bypassing the internet crashing?
