[Answered] Can we get the ps3 to output 1920x1200 with borders?

As the title states, is there a way to get the PS3 to output 1920x1200 via HDMI? I know HDMI can handle it, as I use a HDMI cable for my pc monitor and it works fine.

The reason I ask, is my 24 inch monitor is 1920x1200 native resolution, and doesnt support pixel mapping. So it scales up the image to full screen and looks like junk.

Do you suppose there is a way to enable scaling on the PS3 so i could output the image with black borders so I can use my native resolution?

Yes and no. It's possible for the hardware to do it, and if you use otheros you can use that resolution with linux. I think you can use that resolution on a development kit, but on a retail kit you can only select broadcast TV resolutions for gameos.

No, as far as I am aware, unfortunately. You need a monitor with pixel mapping to achieve that.. :|
