[Answered] The Black Screen at Start games query help?

    Sponsored Links
Can someone explain what is the technical reason behind MW2, Assassin's Creed and a few other games not working using this JB method at all?

Please don't restrict the reply to the obvious "It's not compatible" phrase. I would rather have some decent explanation of why these specific games come up with Black screen at start up, than get vague replies.

Well, the short answer is we don't know. It is most likely that EBOOT.BIN (like the .exe of the game) is encrypted and can't be patched to work with the BD emulation of the jailbreak. The recent release of key sets for the PS3 makes it hopeful that fixes can be made, but if the exact cause was known a fix could be developed. The PS3 scene is very young, give it some time and all the issues will be worked out.

The prime suspect is that bd emulation is incomplete.

yep that or these games have some sort of almost copy protection but not quite built in where they try read from a specific sector of the disc on boot at a much lower level, but either way anything suggested here would just be speculation, quite frankly if we knew what caused it it wouldn't be a problem for long.
