    Given that the PS3 is most likely RoHS compliant, you really need to adhere to the correct temperature profiles for any rework. There's a good article here (solder.net/technical/LFbga3.asp) on why strict temperature profiling is required for any BGA rework.

    Given that waving a heat gun around is not going to provide an exactly controlled profile, any success you might have will be purely coincidental.

    imo its not smart to attempt to repair ylod with a heat gun if you don't know what you're doing.. the ps3 mb is has very delicate parts and is easily totally destroyed if you don't know what you're doing..
