Is the 3.41 fixed firmware alright for JB?

Hey, i've got a Jap ps3 incoming on 2.83 i was wondering if i download the 3.41 fixed USA version if it will work fine on my console and allow me to JB or do i need the non fixed 3.41.

I'm pretty sure i know the answer but just want some clarification
