im not sure which version you would use for Australian PS3's? not quite sure if you use the EU or US update..
Once you find out the way to install it manually is to whack it in 2 folders on your USB pen:
USB PEN > PS3 > UPDATE
when you select system update choose the update via storage media, it will auto select the firmware in that folder.

^so to make that clearer you create a folder called PS3 on your pen.
then create a folder called UPDATE inside the PS3 folder.
then drop the update file inside the UPATE folder.

To confirm: They are identical, so he could use either... their MD5 hash is the same. The only reason we post both links on our Site News is so those in the US can (hopefully) grab it faster from Sony's US server, and those abroad can do the same on Sony's EU server.
