Quick Question.

The process itself works great using VLC, however I notice that the 1st and last parts of the split movie come up as "Unsupported Format". I only tried with Terminator so far. Any ideas?

I'm having an issue that I can't quite figure out. When I have video files on my external drive and have it connected to my ps3, It says there are no files on the drive. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something I need to do so that the PS3 can see the contents of the drive? It will read it in Linux, but not under the PS3os.

Its a 250 gig Fat32 drive with a single partition. I have also had the same problem with SD cards, but if I burn the same files to a CD it will read it with no problem.

So you got the image from linux on the external drive? (saw your other post) Well my bet is you did it perfectly fine if you could view it in linux. The solution is when you are in the PS3 XMB goto video, goto the external-drive (but don't select it), and press (Triangle), you will then select "Display All Files" and then open it and locate the files, if you did it right they will show up.

I say don't worry about this process until UDF 2.5 support on Linux is announced here; (unless you are really really annoxious to waste hours in order to not have to wait days.)

Ahhh ok cool.

The image thing in the other post was a different issue than this one. I had mpg files I was already playing with which is what this was about.

The other thread involved not being able to copy the image to the external drive because by default it just seems to automatically drop the image on the ps3 drive as opposed to my external drive (which I can write to). I'm just bad with linux and don't understand how to use it.

Thanx for the reply.

It sounds more to me like you formatted the drive as extfs, which the ps3 will only read when in linux (or with windows driver in windows). It has to be a fat16 or fat32 partition for ps3 to recognize.

Has anyone figured out a way to do VC1 yet? I'm at a loss with it myself at the moment.

Its been almost a month since this post, is there any update? I'd also like to know if there is a way to do this with VC-1 movies?
