Cool 750GB HDD in PS3 made possible

Ever wonder if and when Blue Ray game .iso's would be ready in the future, if you could store them on your new PS3 HDD. Well it has been done (the huge HDD that is), and working 100%. Gonna cost you a few bucks for the drive from what I could find at Newegg ($379), but the drive cable is cheap

What you'll need are 2 items:
SATA HDD (One mentioned below that I found)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB, SATA II NCQ, 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148134

Model: ST3750640AS
Interface: SATA 3.0Gb/s
Capacity: 750GB
RPM: 7200 RPM
Cache: 16MB

And the other item needed:
Sata Male>Female extension ($14.99)

22 pin male to female power and data SATA adapter custom cable. [CUS22MF12]

Features:
22 pin male to female SATA adapter, custom cable 12".
Great for backplane adapter.
Great for an extension.
Pin 1 to Pin 1
Data cable may come in blue or red

1) Open bay cover
2) Connect male end of extension cable to your ps3 internally.
3) Connect female end of extension cable to your hard drive
4) Boot ps3 and format drive from XMB.

Pic of SATA adapter cable attached

Now to get a Tera hooked into the PS3

True, you could use an external HDD via usb connection as well. That is what CJPC had used last night on his game dump.

Nice deals. I've seen some on eBay going for that price on the HDD, some cheaper in slightly used condition.

wait, so you can only swap out the HD on the 60GB version of the ps3? I was planning to just get a 20GB. If I can't swap out the HD, i'll definitely get the 60GB then.
