I recently installed a 323Gb (5400rpm) drive in my PS3. It runs like a champ... Also installed Fedora core and ripped first BR movie to external 500GB sata USB drive. Will burn Movie So tonight on BR disc and hopefully it plays! Anyway, I am anticipating the same results with a few games. Not sure if they wil run once I burn. Anyone know if it's been done and how it works? thx
well whats i smarter? To run the system withe the standart hdd or a bigger one with 205gb or even 750 gb, if you only use the ps3 for standart things (gaming/demos/movies...)
yep right now it's not nessesary but it will become when blu ray disc will be able to be backuped. If you use your ps3 as media center you'll find changing the hard drive usefull since you can store more things in
if you are looking at an internal and not an ugly hdd and wires everywhere, try the samsung spinpoint m6. its 299.00, 500gigs, the samsung site says now shipping but cant find where to buy- might be available later this month.
I was thinking of making a small base for a larger HDD to sit in with maybe a fan to keep things cool and that looks like exactly the cable i'll need to do it thanks.
